The main characters we follow are Owen Blatt, a student who is so smart that he skipped a grade, and who loves to follow rules and is always on schedule, Blair Bennett, who is almost a teenager but already rebellious, Byron Blatt, who works at a radio station and he is quite the radio personality, and The Gator, his co-host at the radio station who is described as a man-child and is quirky, as he lives on a boat and has a karate dojo.

Recurring characters of this show include DJ Lela B, a DJ with a big heart who lives close to the studio where Byron works, Mr. Penworth, who is the teacher of the two children, Ruth, who is the best friend of Blair, as well as George Bennett, the grandfather of the kids who end up moving in with them after he got kicked out from the retirement home he was living. This is a family always up to some sort of antics, so watching them is a blast.
