The story and characters of Monster Beach

The story follows a pair of siblings who, for their summer vacation, have been sent to live on an island with their uncle. This is great since both Jan and Dean are avid surfers who can’t wait to catch the waves on the beaches of Iki-Iki. But, what they soon find out after landing on the island is that their uncle is surrounded by monsters, as the whole island is inhabited by them, many of them coming here for the waves from all over the world.

As for the characters, Dean is the younger brother who wants to be a top surfer just like his idols, and he will work his ass off to accomplish that, even though he is only good at wipe-outs for now. His sister, Jan, was not really thrilled to find out she is going to live among monsters, but after catching the first waves, she changed her mind quickly.

Their monster friends include Widget, a girl created out of body parts just like Frankenstein’s Monster, The Mutt, who looks like a combination of a bat and a dog and who can perform some of the most extreme surf stunts ever, and Brain Freeze is a chill, tall, and blonde-haired pink monster who came to the island in 1967 and has been there since.
