Your goal is to help Flambo reach the end of each level safely, navigating him using the arrow keys. Blocks burn and crumble away after stepping on them, so don't go back. Also, you are immune to fire, but water causes you damage, so make sure to avoid it at any cost. Along the way, also collect coal in order to get points in return, and meet the critters to rescue them and use their help as they grant you different abilities.
