You can play this game in either the story mode or the free play mode, with the game rules being the same, but in one, you have dialogues and cutscenes, in another one you don't!

When you see arrow symbols above BF match with one another, you have to press the same arrow keys, and you've got to keep doing it until the song concludes to win.
