When you begin, only one car is available for you to use, but as you advance and get the money you get to unlock all sorts of new ones. The mini-car is going to move ahead by itself on the track, and when you click and hold the left mouse button you are going to drift, which is what you have to do in order to get past the curs and get points. Also collect coins from the track, since those coins can then be changed for new cars later on.
