The witch is flying on the broom, and to keep her in the air you need to click and make it flap, just like you would do in flappy bird games, so it requires your concentration and skill. You will then notice that each pumpkin has a certain number on it, so you need to shoot it that many times with magic in order to clear it out of your way and advance. You shoot automatically, and if you grab potions along the way, they will give you certain power-ups such as multiple shots at one time, shooting in three directions at once, or a continuous stream of magic.
