To connect the two items you use the mouse, pushing the boxes by swiping in the direction you want them to go, simple as that! The boxes only move towards the direction that the arrows on the show you, so figure out the right way of moving around in order to reach the star of their color.

As you proceed, portal tiles are added, which get you from one tile to another in one go, making moving a faster action. Figure out the way to solve the puzzle and connect the boxes, clearing each level until you are done with them, and you can always try again if you've messed up and no more moves can be made.
